What I've (we've) done in the past is prepackage door prize gifts and send them out with them before they play. This keeps people from having to wait around after for a drawing.

If you have some larger gifts you could raffle them off separately to give you something to do after the event, other than give out the winning prizes and things like long drive closest to the hole.

I have never been a fan of a door prize drawing after an event. Even if there is a meal. So many people are busy and want to move on down the road.

Try and make prizes as equitable as possible. This is easier to do up front when collecting them. Ask for gift certificate denominations that are easy to break up like $10 or $20. Not $50. Don't give one guy an umbrella for winning a closest to the hole and the next lady a foursome to a nice course. Be congruent.

Hope these help a bit. I'm not an expert but I've done a lot of these.

We have received lots of prize donations for our event..from baseball tickets...rest. Gift cards...sprts apparel etc...how recommend organizing these prizes!? We usually include a ticket in each golfers welcome bag and let them drop it in a prize bag...however we were thinking of not letting them pick and just drawing tickets and assigning prizes...some prizes r better than others too!
